A Rare Early 18th Century Mahogany Tallboy (c. 1730 America)
|
This is a particularly rare example of an early 18th century American chest on chest or tallboy. The moulded cornice rises above a secret cushion drawer and below a set of graduated drawers in two halves separated by a generous waist moulding. The sides to the base run through to the floor and support the piece, the moulded feet are applied for decoration and form. |
