An extremely rare early eighteenth century American wing chair and stool, the chair with unusual concave front rail and double cone ācā scroll arms, both with cabriole legs terminating in pointed pad feet, the stool accented with stylised fetlocks.
The chair retains all the original upholstery and fragments of the original fabric. The stool most likely retains the original hair pad. Both have been recently re-covered to the highest conservation standards.
Possibly from Virginia.
